This 9.5″ rear section of the boot (trunk) floor is ideal for collision or rust repair. Many times if you are hit from the rear the floor right in front of the bumper gets damaged-this will fix it. If rust is your problem, then this along with a new battery box could easily solve the problems. Also see side repair panels MS24R and MS24L.
